Pool

Entries are now being invited for the 2019 HASSRA Scotland Pool Competition, which will take place at The Players Lounge, Falkirk on Friday 7th June 2019 starting at 10:00. The Players Lounge is in Grahams Road, Falkirk adjacent to Grahamston Railway Station.

The Competition will consist of 3 events – men's singles, ladies’ singles and a team competition. There is no limit to the number of entries from an Office/­District. The team competition will comprise of 3 players. Players in the team competition may or may not have played in the singles compe­titions.

The winner of the men's and ladies' competitions will represent HASSRA Scotland at the National finals, which will be part of the Late Summer Festival of Sport held at the University of Warwick on Saturday 7th September 2019.

It's A Knockout

It’s back! After 5 successful years, we’re doing it all again. We will be using the same company, Maximillion, as they have done a fantastic job and really looked after us. We will also be using the same venue, the Hillhead Sports Club, 32 Hughenden Road, Glasgow G12 9XP and the date will be Saturday the 8th of June 2019 at 1pm.

We are looking for mixed teams of 8 people (that doesn’t mean 7 gents and 1 lady, we would like a minimum of 3 ladies per team from any location to participate in this year’s fun (composite teams will also be accepted, as will kids as long as they are 13 and above and accompanied by an adult). We will be providing food after the games are finished. There is a bar at the venue so please respect this.

Entries are invited for the 2019 HASSRA Scotland Photography competition. The Winner and Runner-up will go on to represent Scotland at the HASSRA Festival on Saturday 7th September 2019 at Warwick University.

All standards are welcome. Everyone has a camera these days with mobile phones and with digital cameras it has never been easier or cheaper!

All you have to do is submit a maximum of three images in either Colour or Black & White on any subject of your choosing, so please submit your best images. For the Scotland competition only slight manipu­lation/­enhan­cements are allowed i.e. cropping levels, spotting etc. The entered image should not be drastically different from and must be in keeping with the spirit of the original image. However, there are no digital enhancements allowed in the National competition. The entries will go to an independent panel for judging – prizes will be awarded to the Winner and Runner-up however no competitor can win both winner and runner-up prizes. Please see notes on the following page for useful information/­hints and tips to make your photographs that little bit more special.

Pop Quiz

The 2019 HASSRA Scotland Pop Quiz will take place at the Rhoderick Dhu, Waterloo Street, Glasgow, on Friday 19th of July. Doors open at 6:30, with the quiz starting at 7pm. A buffet will be provided - if a competitor has any special requirements – access, dietary etc. – please include details.

All cvompetitors must be HASSRA Members. The winning team of 4 will represent HASSRA Scotland at the national finals in Warwick at the HASSRA September Festival.

Putting

The 2019 HASSRA Scotland Putting Competition will be held at North Berwick (East Links) on Wednesday 7th August, commencing at 10.30am. All standards are welcome. Lunch will be provided and expenses paid in accordance with normal HASSRA Scotland rules. If a competitor has any special requirements – access, dietary etc. – please include details below .

The format will be the same as in previous years, i.e. stroke play with the singles and team competitions amalgamated. Entry is open to all HASSRA members but may be limited to one entry per office of up to 3 members. All members should belong to the same office but composite teams will be accepted. Single entries are welcome - single entries will be placed in teams if numbers permit. Games will be played on a stroke play basis over 54 holes. The winner of the singles title will be the competitor with the lowest overall score and the winning team will be that whose 3 members record the lowest combined score.

Bowls Triples

Entries are now being invited for the 2019 Bowls Triples competition. If you are unable to get a team, still enter and I will try and get you a team. All standards are welcome but competitors must be members of HASSRA.

Travelling costs subject to the normal HASSRA Scotland rules will be met for all rounds of the Compe­titions.­  Please ensure that cars are shared where possible in order to reduce travelling costs.

Reminder: Proper bowling shoes must be worn. Failure to comply with bowling etiquette will result in disqu­ali­fica­tion.

Curling

Entries are invited from individuals and/or teams of four for the annual Bonspiels. If there are sufficient individual entries composite teams will be put together by the organiser. Soup and sandwiches will be provided at lunchtime and normal rules for payment of travelling expenses will apply. Play will commence at 9.30am.

All standards are welcome and participants must be members of HASSRA. Entries will be restricted to the first 16 complete teams received with additional entries placed on a reserve list. If a competitor has any special requirements – access, dietary etc. – please include details. A copy of the draw will be issued prior to the event.
